Sermon Intro Videos:
To be honest, a lot of sermon intro videos are pointless. Here's what a majority of churches use them for, to provide a smooth transition between the worship band/choir and the sermon. I've used sermon intro videos for that same reason, but I've also, used them to lead into the message.
Here's some ideas for sermon intro videos:
- Keep it simple. You don't have to have a whole lot involved in making a good sermon intro video.
- Keep it short. I would suggest that the sermon video should be around one minute at the most.
- Music. Figure out what the sermon is going to be on and what the pastor hopes to accomplish through the message. I would pick some music that is going to help prepare people for this.
- Volume. It's better the sound to be louder at first, then quiet. Especially, if your wanting the music to get your people excited. I always told our production guys to have the volume louder and to tone it down some if started out to loud.
- Surf the web. There's a lot of resources out there on the web already. If you have an idea of what you want in your intro video, it's most likely there is something out there already made.
How do I make a intro video, if I have no video editing skills? Guess what? I don't either.
- You can do this really simple with these four items: An apple computer, iMovie, the sermon series graphic, and a song.
- For the sake of keeping the post short, I'm not going to post detailed directions here. If your interested in learning how to make a simple intro video using iMovie, send me an email and I'll send you some directions.
If you want to see a couple of the intro videos I've done before, leave me a comment with your email address and i'll send them your way. Tomorrow I'll talk about some ideas about programming services.
How about you, have any good ideas on creating sermon intro videos?
Hello, here's the usual spot you'd hear about me in a cutting edge type of way with some engaging terminology. You'd probably see some buzz words in the mix as well, but let's keep it simple.
I'd love to see some of your videos, Boyd.
