To learn and grow as a leader, I believe it's going to cost you. But, I don't see it as a cost or an expense. I see it as an investment. I'm investing money, so that I can be shaped as a leader for my people. I want to be the best leader for them as possible, so that means I need to be willing to do whatever it takes to grow and be shaped like Jesus.
1. Coaching Network
I applied to get involved with Michael Lukazooski's coaching network for the simple reason of having hands on coaching. It's going to be a good season to hang out with 10 other guys learning with them.
2. Impart
I absolutely love what's going on at Elevation Church. So, I signed up for Impart. I lucky got to snag one of the tickets at half off. But, I believe it's going to be a memorable day. I'm excited to hear from Pastor Steven and explore the jump drive of documents they are giving to attendees.
3. Seminary
I'm working on my Master's of Divinity right now. I don't see it as heroic, in thinking that not doing seminary is novel. There are way too many men out there who boast about not going to seminary and think its cool. If you want to preach the Word of God, it's a bad thing to learn under some professors who have labored in the scriptures for years. But, then again just because you went to seminary doesn't mean you are now qualified to be a pastor.
4. Do something for a ministry hero
A lot of times we want our ministry heroes to stop their lives to
invest in us, but won't do anything for them in return. My wife and I
are doing something special for a hero of ours. It's going to cost us
some, but we see it as an opportunity to bless someone who's made an
impact on our lives and ministry from afar.
By doing these things, it's requiring us to dip into our savings, but we see it as an invest for God to mold and shape us. What are you doing to grow and learn to be a better leader for your people?
Hello, here's the usual spot you'd hear about me in a cutting edge type of way with some engaging terminology. You'd probably see some buzz words in the mix as well, but let's keep it simple.
Great list Boyd
